Saint Mary Magdalen has joined 34 other St. Louis area parishes serving their congregation with Jonah Ministry. Praying for each other is an excellent way to affirm each other's faith as a community, to let the Holy Spirit heal our hurts, and to open our eyes to being thankful for the truth and love in every situation that we experience.
FIRST WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH AFTER THE NOON MASS.
MEET IN THE EAST OR WEST TRANSEPT AT THE FRONT OF CHURCH.
"To more fully awaken everyone to the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit and their importance in empowering the ministry of bringing Christ to others through team prayer with each other in the Parish or Archdiocese."
Hopefully, we individually pray for each other, family members, friends, and the world. Jonah Prayer is based on a parish, community level of interceding, asking God for specific needs. Just as Jonah cried out to God in his time of distress, God longs for us to call upon Him in times of spiritual, emotional, and physical challenges. The Ministry involves stating, with faith in God's healing power, what your prayer needs are to 2-3 Ministers who will then pray for you, calling upon the Holy Spirit to guide them, and entrusting your needs to Jesus' healing powers. In summary, Jonah Prayer Ministry is another beautiful way that the Holy Spirit can have profound direct spiritual impact both in the parish community and in personal lives. Jonah Prayer Ministry is about being present to fellow parishioners through prayer and praying with expectant faith knowing God brings about transformation/healing/growth.
Jonah Prayer Ministers are people like yourself who are approved by the pastor for this ministry. The Ministry Team is comprised of Archdiocesan trained Jonah Prayer Ministers from Saint Mary Magdalen who have felt called to pray for others and have the desire to use their spiritual gifts given by the Holy Spirit.
